Fellowship

The church provides many opportunities for fellowship, service, growth, and connections with one another.  All are welcome to participate in the following activities.

Coffee Hour

On Sunday mornings from 10:15 - 11:00 a.m., Fellowship Hall is a great place to make new friends or greet old acquaintances.  Held between the two worship services, coffee and tea is served and a bite to eat is provided by volunteers.  To volunteer to host a coffee hour during the year, sign up on the bulletin board near the kitchen.  Direction sheets are available.

Summer Refreshments on the Patio

During the summer months (mid-June through Labor Day), light refreshments (iced tea and lemonade) are provided by volunteers and served on the front patio of the church following the 9:15 a.m. worship service.

Adult Fellowship

Adult Fellowship is open to all adult members of the church family. A planning committee organizes approximately seven events each year, usually held on Friday or Saturday evenings. New events are introduced annually, while others are repeated by popular request. Activities include the Christmas Open House / white elephant gift exchange, Valentine's Dinner Dance, Road Rally, Bowling, and Church Supper Club.

Church Family Picnic

Great weather, good food, fire truck rides, volleyball, and games are just a few of the reasons that make this event a highlight as we kick-off each new program year.  The church family gathers for this annual event, held on a Sunday in early September.

Election Day Luncheon, Dinner, and Bazaar

Our only fund-raiser all year and all of the proceeds go to benevolences!  This time-honored tradition brings together our church family as we put on a crafts bazaar and a turkey meal (with all the trimmings!) for the community.  It's a great way to get involved with the ministry of the church.  Please see the "Mission Program" page for more information.

Women's Bowling

Do you enjoy fun, fellowship and bowling?  Our church league bowls at Strathmore Lanes, Route 34 in Matawan, on Wednesday mornings.  Young, old, accomplished or not, you need only enthusiasm to belong to this group.

Men's Bowling

Our congregation has teams in a regional church league that bowls on Monday nights at Howell Lanes.  New team members or substitutes are always welcome!

Quilting Group

The CNRC Piecemakers meet on Monday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the church's Fellowship Hall.  All are welcome to join - no experience is necessary - you will learn how to quilt along the way and have a great time!  This group created a beautiful quilt for the church's 150th Anniversary celebration in 2006. This anniversary quilt is displayed near the entrance to the Education building.
