Sanctuary
Good Friday, April 19th – At 7:30 p.m. in the church Sanctuary, we gather for a memorable and dramatic service of increasing darkness as we recall the crucifixion. The Sanctuary lights will gradually diminish as the Savior’s goodness and grace seemingly are overpowered by the forces of evil as Jesus hangs on the cross. We are ever-reminded though that, while a day of desolation for Jesus, we call it “Good” Friday because of the fact that, through this sacrifice of love, we are reconciled back to God and will never be forsaken. The sermon reflects on the words from the cross: “It is finished.” Music will be offered by the Sanctuary Choir.
